Craft Beer Maps
What began as a lockdown passion project evolved into a locally-backed tourism initiative. Recognising the wealth of independent bars in Halifax, I developed a conceptual "Craft Beer Trail" to help locals and visitors navigate the town’s finest craft establishments. Inspired by the iconic New York Subway map, the identity system utilised a clear, colour-coded wayfinding language to connect disparate venues into a singular, walkable experience.
The project gained significant organic traction, eventually catching the attention of Discover Halifax. They commissioned an initial print run of 2,000 maps for local distribution; following an overwhelming response from both bars and the public, a second run of 5,000 copies was ordered a year later. The success of the Halifax trail led to a subsequent commission from a collective of independent bar owners in Huddersfield, where I adapted the system into a more "underground," grassroots aesthetic to better suit the town’s unique nightlife character.
